TREATMENT OF BONE PATHOLOGIES BY MESOTHERAPY
Sports pathologies are more and more numerous due to the increase in practice. The treatments must be of maximum efficiency and in this context, mesotherapy has a prominent place.
The 3 favorite areas of mesotherapy are:
Periostitis: This is one of the best indications for mesotherapy. The periosteum is a tissue that covers the surface of the bone. Periostitis is caused by repeated micro-traumas, often related to sports. If the treatment is not well carried out or insufficient, the main risk is the occurrence of a stress fracture by weakening the bone because it is no longer protected by its periosteum.
Stress fractures: The stress fracture occurs on a healthy bone, it is linked to sustained, intensive and repetitive physical activity. Mesotherapy is only used as a second intention, the first treatment being rest and offloading.
Osteochondrosis: Frequent pathology in young athletes mainly due to too intensive sports practice during the growth phases. They consist of a developmental disorder of bone tissue within the growth and covering cartilage, excluding tumoral and infectious forms. Mesotherapy can be considered as the first-line treatment in association with sports rest and the prevention of recurrences.
These are bone pathologies for which conventional treatments are often disappointing.
MESOTHERAPY TREATMENT CRITERIA
To obtain an optimal result by mesotherapy, it is necessary to evaluate the physiopathology to determine a diagnosis.
PHARMACOLOGY:
- NSAIDs: Piroxicam - Magnesium pidolate
Calcitonin 100 IU - Draining
Muscle relaxant - Silicon
Lidocaine - Calcium
Equisetum - Vitamin D3 and C
PROTOCOL:
Epidermal Mesotherapy (IED): 1mm
IDP: Point by point at the level of the deep dermis 4mm
Mixed technique combining IED + IDP
RHYTHM OF THE SESSIONS:
Depending on the pathology, the sessions will be more or less close together: D1, D8, D15 +/- D30, +/- D45. The rhythm will depend on the successive clinical examinations.
ASSOCIATED TREATMENTS TO BE ADAPTED ACCORDING TO PATHOLOGIES:
- Rest with discharge
Physiotherapy
Re-education
Icing
Podo-posturology with or without plantar orthoses
Osteopathy
strapping
shock waves
Cryotherapy etc.
Bone pathologies represent a remarkable indication of mesotherapy for the effectiveness, speed, short duration of treatment, compliance, excellent tolerance and satisfaction of the people treated.
