MESOTHERAPY IN RHEUMATOLOGY

La Mésothérapie en rhumatologie - Pistor Eliance

Osteoarthritis is the most common rheumatological condition, affecting 60% of adults and nearly 90% of the elderly.

It is defined as a set of joint damage whose central element is a degeneration of the cartilages, associated with a deficit of repair of the cartilage tissue, a remodeling of the subchondral bone, and associated with a secondary synovial reaction.

Osteoarthritis is an excellent indication for mesotherapy, because it relieves and improves the patient's functionality, by reducing or even eliminating the taking of drugs, analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or local corticosteroids. Mesotherapy brings the elimination of a number of their side effects, the dependence or addiction that they can cause.

It is necessary to distinguish two phases of pain, the acute phase, where the pain predominates and the chronic phase, fluctuating painful background.

PHARMACOLOGY

ACUTE PHASE :

  • Local anesthetics: Lidocaine
  • Anti-inflammatories: Piroxicam / Ketoprofen
  • Relaxants: Thiocolchicoside
  • Rheumatological, analgesic and anti-inflammatory products: Calcitonins

CHRONIC PHASE :

  • Local anesthetics: Procaine
  • Drugs with microcirculatory action: Etamsylate / Magnesium
  • Products with a structural or nutritional action and vitamins: Thiamine/Vitamin C / Cernevit/Soluvit/Vitamin D3 / Calcium Lavoisier

PROTOCOL

The different techniques can be combined to achieve a mixed treatment:
La Mésothérapie en rhumatologie - Pistor Eliance

Intra epidermal or superficial intra dermal: Used on very painful areas, extensive dermalgic areas.
Deep intradermal: Practiced on the painful points and the anatomical points concerned.
Intra dermo-Hypodermic: Especially reserved for spinal pain.

The treatment of osteoarthritis in mesotherapy adapts according to the different locations (the spine, thorax, shoulder, hands, coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, foot)

Mesotherapy has many interesting features for the treatment of rheumatic pathologies. Mesotherapy is active on pain, acts on degenerative phenomena, and limits progression. Mesotherapy makes it possible to limit or even stop the continuous taking of medication or the use of local injections of corticosteroids, and therefore to limit the harmful effects. And finally, mesotherapy remains non-aggressive and inexpensive in drugs.
