MESOTHERAPY AND CHRONIC CERVICALGIA

DEFINITIONS: CHRONIC CERVICALGIA
Mésothérapie et cervicalgie - Pistor

Neck pain is a generic term used to talk about pain in the upper back or in the neck and neck, that is to say at the level of the cervical vertebrae down to the shoulders. We also use the term torticollis especially when the pain is of muscular origin.

The origins of cervical pain or neck pain and torticollis are numerous. In many cases, these pains can be attributed to the muscles and ligaments that surround the cervical vertebrae. They are contracted at certain points and the pain is often triggered during stressful periods.

Another cause of neck pain is the degeneration of one or more cervical vertebrae or, more specifically, of their joints (intervertebral discs or facets). The most common are herniated disc and degenerative disc disease.

SYMPTOMS OF CERVICALGIA

Neck pain is neck pain that can occur in muscles, discs, joints or ligaments. This pain in the neck, which can also radiate to the shoulders, is the most obvious symptom of this condition, but other symptoms can appear:

discomfort in turning the head;
headaches ;
dizziness ;
fatigue.

MESOTHERAPY PROTOCOL:
PRODUCTS USED

Here are the interesting products to treat neck pain:
- Lidocaine 1%: anesthetic, it is used to reduce pain and increase muscle relaxation.
- Anti-inflammatories: they also have an analgesic role and are effective on osteoarthritis:
o Piroxicam
o Calcitonin
- Muscle relaxants:
o Thiocolchicoside: non-sedative relaxing effect (NSAID-like effect).
o Magnesium pidolate: muscle relaxant.

TECHNIQUE AND INJECTION POINTS

The mesotherapy injection technique is mixed, that is to say deep and superficial.
the points of the SID (Degenerative Intervertebral Pain): at the level of the interspinous ligament (on the midline), of the posterior joint (at 1.5 cm from the midline), at the level of tendinomyalgia and paravertebral ligamentitis (at 5 and 8 cm from the midline). o the upper and lower cervical plexus points.
- Then, superficial intra-epidermal injection (IED): layering over the entire cervical spine, or even more depending on the topography of the pain (dorsal spine and/or shoulders).

FREQUENCY

A minimum of 3 mesotherapy sessions is necessary, at the rate of one session every 8 days: D1, D8, D15 +/- D30
